Slow Roll – Farm Aid 40 Edition: Urban Farm Southside Glide

A common thread connects family farms, co-ops, parks, and trails—these are the places where community, culture, and care take root.

As Farm Aid 40 brings the national spotlight to Minnesota’s food systems, we invite you to hop on your bike and experience the vibrant green arteries of the Southside. From the Midtown Greenway to urban flower farms, from Indigenous food sovereignty to immigrant-led sustainability, this ride connects us to land, labor, and love.

Join Slow Roll MSP, REI Co-op, and the Rails to Trails Conservancy for a celebratory community ride through South Minneapolis that links together:

• 🌼 Four Sisters Farm – an Indigenous-led food sovereignty project
• 🌸 Bloomcroft – a creative, women-led floral farm initiative
• 🌽 Tamales y Bicicletas – a powerful hub for Latino urban farming, culture & youth

These three sites are connected by some of the nation's most impressive urban trail systems, including the Midtown Greenway and Grand Rounds Scenic Byway.

EVERYONE!Bring your own bike, or borrow one of ours (limited supply – first come, first served).

• A relaxed,conversationally paced ride suitable for ages 10+ & all skill levels
• A celebratory and seasnal community meal
• Mini-talks from each site about their work, stories, and community roots
• Music, joy, and summer to fall vibes all along the way

This ride is free, but advance registration is strongly encouraged to reserve a spot and claim a loaner bike if needed.

Riders will be asked to sign a liability waiver .
