About this Event
Aligned with ‘alternative ways of being’ and mindfulness, Slow Art Walks invite visitors to take the time to slow down and reflect, not to rush to unpack or understand. For three nights this Ramadan, we will be joined by critical voices from the arts—both emerging and established—to welcome you to spend an evening with artworks in the Avenue.
On 4 April, Mahnoor Haque will be leading the Slow Art Walk in Urdu. Mahnoor is a trained textile designer with a real passion for design that incorporates a contemporary narrative. Her driving aim is to contribute towards the significance of heritage, while at the same time weaving it into the modern urban landscape. In her practice, she has worked closely with handicraft artisans when developing her own brand, BATWA. Over the years, she has developed a true appreciation for the study of arts and culture. She is also our Partnership and VIP Relations Manager, who is often spotted at Alserkal galleries, sharing her in-depth understanding and appreciation for the artistic practices. Urdu is her mother tongue, and having read and composed poetry in Urdu, she now hopes to convey meaningful dialogue while rooting it in a language spoken by many in the region.
Meet us at A4 Space, Alserkal Avenue at 9.00PM on Tuesday, 4 April.
