Slow 8k Beach Skate for Worldwide Rollout Day™

Sunday 26th July 2026 is Worldwide Rollout Day™; Gold Coast Rollout is hosting a community roller skate for our part of SEQ and Northern Rivers 😎. People in all major cities across the globe will be skating on this day, in the spirit of One Love. Join experts in jam/rhythm dance skating & slalom trick skating, it’s all wheels, all abilities, and all ages!

EVENT DETAILS
⦿ ALL AGES: Toddlers to seniors!
⦿ ALL ABILITIES: Must be able to roll and stop on skates. We will go at a slow pace so nobody gets left behind. We'll occasionally stop at a bubbla for water, and to share tips & tricks, take photos & for slower skaters to catch up; before moving on.
⦿ ALL WHEELS: Roller skates, inline blades, scooters, unicycles, electric longboards, wheelchairs, buggies! Also, friendly energetic dogs on leashes or pulled along in dog carts are very welcome!
⦿ WHERE: Meet Sunday 26 July at 3.45pm on the beach path that's just off Broadbeach’s First Avenue. Follow the music to find Julio & friends practicing skate moves. We depart at 4pm promptly, and skate the smooth beach path towards Narrowneck Main Beach, and then return to our starting point. It’s an easy 4k each way, which is not much on wheels.

ABOUT WORLDWIDE ROLLOUT DAY™: Founded at the peak of BLM & COVID-19 in Atlanta USA; it inspired the formation of Gold Coast Rollout, and is a call to action for rollers everywhere to build community cooperation & rollout together. Here in Australia, we acknowledge & celebrate our First Nations people; and as with skate groups across this country; we love and appreciate diversity in all its formats.
ABOUT US: Gold Coast Rollout is a network of many thousands of skaters from Brisbane to Byron, that roller skate/blade for fun or professionally, across all skate disciplines (dance/jam/rhythm skating, roller derby, figure skating, speed skating, trick/slalom, aggressive skating, etc). We share tips & arrange skate meet-ups including our main community skate in one of several fave locations each Sunday...We do this in a voluntary community spirit to promote skating; and so we practice & learn together for free & for fun.
