Jamband powerhouse Slingshot Improv Trio unleashes their debut album, Elasticity, a sweet sonic explosion of spontaneous grooves and boundary‑pushing sound. The mostly improvised record captures the band’s signature approach to creation: fluid, funky, reactive, and driven by the unpredictable chemistry of live performance.
Recorded live at a series of local concerts, Elasticity captures Slingshot’s evolving interplay as they move fluidly between structured compositions and open‑ended improvisation. The performances highlight the band’s instinct for stretching written material into unexpected shapes, letting spontaneous ideas collide with pre‑crafted themes. The result is a collection that feels both intentional and unpredictable, shaped by the energy of the room and the band’s willingness to follow the moment wherever it leads.

About Slingshot Improv Trio
With a big map and no planned destination, this trio of seasoned improvisers from the jazz, funk, and jamband worlds use song and structure the way spacecraft use planets: not to land and stay, but to slingshot around and be propelled back out into the galaxy. During their mostly-improv shows, a familiar song could materialize at any time. Or not. All we can promise is that nobody knows what’s going to happen.
