Slinger and Cedar Lakes Segments

Join us for a fun-filled community event that invites hikers of all levels to explore the beautiful Slinger and Cedar Lakes Segments of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. Three different hike routes are being recommended, with shuttles available to the start of each hike route (or you can drive yourself).
After your trek, join fellow adventurers at Community Park for a celebration featuring delicious food, drinks and great company. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the trails, meet new friends and share stories from the hike!
Shuttles and information will be offered at Community Park starting at 2 pm, with the last shuttle at about 4 pm. The other activities will not start until 4 pm, when it is expected most hikers will return.
LOCATION: The event headquarters is at Community Park,128 Kettle Moraine Dr N in Slinger. Shuttles will be available from this location, and this is where the food, drinks, and music will be offered after the hike. Click here for driving directions. Watch for yellow “Ice Age Trail Event” signs.
HIKE DESCRIPTION: The three different hike routes are:
Hike A: Cedar Lakes segment bridge (recently completed addition to segment) to Community Park, 4.1 miles
Hike B: Polk Kames parking (County NN) to Community Park, 3.2 miles
Hike C: North end of Slinger Segment (Cedar Creek Road) to Community Park, 0.8 miles

WHAT TO BRING: Wear comfortable hiking boots and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring water, sunscreen, and insect repellant
VOLUNTEERS WANTED: We could use a few more volunteers for this event. We would like one volunteer at each shuttle stop to greet hikers and point them in the right direction. We will also have some individuals at Community Park manning a table with information about the Ice Age Trail and answering questions. Volunteers should arrive around 1:30 pm and will be asked to sign a liability waiver. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the chapter ([email protected]).
