MAN MEAT
Prairie punks Man Meat bring the broken parts of songs to the forefront to inspire slow-motion mosh pits. The strong post-hardcore vocals on their latest release You Deserve Better pull you in closer with sharp vulnerability, while the shoegaze-affected guitar and drum work present a spatial awareness that leaves you wanting more.
Everythingyoueverloved
Doom-length songs with prog-level atmosphere and melody, Everythingyoueverloved is everything you ever wanted from having metal sub-genres pulled apart and tangled back together. Their epic single “Rat King” is a sweeping sonic journey of brooding emotion and fast-paced aggression, setting the stage for a crushing return to Sled Island.
Genizah
When you stare into the abyss, Genizah stares back at you. This post-gloom outfit is a relentless force, merging experimental heavy metal with noise-infused sludge. Latest single “Itinerant State” is a 13-minute long flurry of darkness and catharsis, capturing the visceral experience this riff cult delivers live.
GLASSCULT
Nü metal lives on in the capable hands of GLASSCULT. Pulling from the ‘00s heavy heyday, this new local machine of riffs creates stylishly messy hardcore music dripping with emotional presence and unpredictable time signatures. This is a new age of heaviness that bends rules in order to break stuff.
