SextileRevolving around the machinations of Brady Keehn and Melissa Scaduto, Sextile’s occult-tinged take on post-punk is a chilly dance party with invites for all. Their latest release, yes, please, slam dances at the edges of drum ‘n bass and acid punk with hooks for days and a propulsive, fuller sound. Wear something black and get ready to dance.
Maryze
Blending electronic beats with fiery and introspective bilingual lyrics, Maryze is a queer French-Canadian artist based in Montreal whose stormy-sweet alt pop conjures a haunting universe. Maryze has toured Australia and New Zealand with Alex Cameron, shared the stage with Boy Harsher, and performed at SXSW. Next stop, Sled Island.
MOONBEAN
Lacing their live synth hardware set with lush vocals, MOONBEAN is a queer, psychedelic electroclash duo that boldly explores flavours of acid-house, techno, and disco, and blends it with a captivating performance style that serves punk energy and messages of love. For fans of Peaches, Ladytron and Eurythmics.
WANTS
Blending propulsive synths and emotionally charged songwriting, synthy post-punk project WANTS draws from coldwave, new wave and modern goth. In anticipation of an immersive live performance, start with their latest album In Plain Sight for an ‘80s electronic-inspired experience exploring themes of disconnection, intimacy and survival.
