This event is for climbers in our community that want to learn best practices for anchor maintenance and route development, and potentially be involved with DAP in an anchor installation/maintenance capacity.
Other stakeholders (including but not limited to employees and board members of USSD1, ARMC, Charitable Friends, Active & Healthy, and Dino Trails) are welcome to come out as well, to meet the SLCA, get to know the DAP crew, and learn more about the Flag Crag.
Please park in the south parking area near the secondary pavilion, as a local childcare provider will be using the main pavilion and playground area for summer camp on Thursday.
Participants should bring their own helmet, belay device, and a harness that can get glue on it (glue may get on your clothing, too). The highs will be around 80, and the cliffside will likely be hot until the afternoon. Bring sun screen, plenty of water (we will have a water jug for refills), a sack lunch (we will have a cooler available), and snacks.
All participants must fill out a liability waiver for both DAP and the SLCA before the workshop or on site (we will have a QR code or links available). Most of the instruction will be on-ground. DAP will have one full anchor tech kit available, to be used in bolting 1-2 routes alongside the SLCA.
On Friday afternoon following the workshop, we will either have a potluck dinner or go out to eat with the crew; each person will be responsible for the cost of their own meal.
