When ‘Slam: Return To Source’ sold out in 24 hours, leaving hundreds on a waiting list for tickets, we decided to give everyone another chance to get together beneath Central Station in the venue previously known as the Arches. With a 23 year history in the place there's so much incredible music to choose from to reflect this legacy.
We were absolutely blown away by the response. Since the announcement, there have been so many messages from people who missed out and were still looking for tickets. We had no idea the demand would be so high! We personally have so many special memories playing at this venue, and it's nice to now be able to share that again – now across not only one night but two! We'll be having a bit of a deep dive into our record collections and pulling out some of the great, inspiring music that helped make this place so special.
(Slam became synonymous with The Arches when setting up the first club nights there in 1992-1998. The venue quickly became the “spiritual home” thanks to weekly Friday night sets, accompanied by occasional guests and friends, including Daft Punk – who were then signed to Soma in 1994 – French luminary, Laurent Garnier, Detroit legend Jeff Mills, the Chemical Brothers, Underworld and many more.
This 2nd Edition of Return to Source will also be the closing party of New World Series 2 at Platform. They went on to host the Pressure parties there until the venue closed in 2015.)
