SLAM NUBA (We Cut Heads!) is back for monthly poetry open mic on Friday September 27! For the September show we are featuring one of the hosts of the Mercury Café Sunday Slam @denvermercurypoetry , the wonderful and talented Honey B. Honest! @honeybhonest
Slam Nuba hosts a poetry open-mic and feature poet every final Friday at Redline Art Gallery @redlinedenver in Denver. The monthly show is hosted by Aerik Francis @phaentompoet and DJ Alisha B @djalishab303 .
Doors and sign-ups open 7:30PM. Show starts around 8:00PM. General admission is $10, $5 for students.

About this month's feature:

Honey B. Honest is a pro-black multifaceted visual and performance artist from Denver Colorado. Artistically, she is a poet and host at Mercury Cafe's Sunday night open mic and slam,  and has partnered with organizations that aim to offer artistic opportunities to communities in need such as The Gathering Place, Redline Art Gallery, Art Restart and Boulevard One.  Many describe her performances as thought provoking, energetic, and relatable. The stories told through her poetry are personal accounts aimed to dismantle harmful societal norms, cope with traumatic experiences, and inspire listeners and readers to practice healing and self-care.
