SLAM (Storytelling, Lettering, Art, and Marketing) Academy is an advanced course taught by professional artists, writers, and historians at Bat City Comic Professionals. Each course will challenge students to take their writing, art, and understanding to the next level. These courses are designed to give students the opportunity to get hands-on opportunities usually reserved for college level courses. These are challenging classes meant for advanced students of any age. Workshops are $40, and limited to 10 students per class. Scholarships are available.
**Beginners interested in learning about comic creation should attend one of our FREE Comic Creation Workshops offered monthly in-store.
DEVELOPING A PLOT
Students who participate in this class will learn:
- The Hero's Journey and the three act structure
- Pacing
- Internal vs External problems and how to continuously challenge your character in ways that make sense
- Tropes: when to use them and when to avoid them
- Types of endings and how to ensure yours is dynamic
- Methods to organize ideas from chaos into form

A deposit of $15 must be made by May 8. Tuition must be paid in full 3 weeks prior to class start date.
