Skyway Social

Skyway Social is a sensory experience part of Downtown Visions' signature PlacemakingJax program. The activities range from food & beverage tastings to art and music on the JTA Skyway platforms to create a party that floats & elevates the city. Each of the designated platforms will host a different experience to create an event that is unique and unparalleled in the history of our city. Serendipitously, 2024 happens to be the 35th anniversary of the JTA Skyway, providing an even stronger resounding purpose for the event.

The Skyway Social will activate 3 JTA Skyway platforms: Kings Avenue Station, San Marco Station, and Central Station. The musical performances will be provided by DJ’s and each platform will be decorated to enhance the distinctive nature of each platform experience. Our placemaking project focuses on a sense of place. Sense of place is a concept that describes the distinct character and individuality of a place, and the unique feel that makes it stand out. It's also used to describe the emotional bonds and attachments people develop with specific locations and environments.
