About this Event
The Shops at Skyview is hosting a tre-moon-dous celebration on Saturday, September 14 from 2-6 p.m. to honor the Moon Festival, a fun, colorful and significantly important festival in many Asian communities. The shopping center is providing both complimentary and ticketed events for everyone in the Queens area to enjoy.
Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is the second most important festival besides Lunar New Year in many Asian countries, such as China, Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines. It's a reunion time for families, just like Thanksgiving. People celebrate it by gathering for dinners, doing barbeque outdoors, enjoying the full moon, and eating mooncakes. There are also several interesting characters in the legend of moon festival such as the fairy and the jade rabbit who live in the moon.
