Since our last attempt at a Skippers Picnic was washed out, we've decided to move indoors to make the promised July rescheduled date. We are accomplishing this by hopping on the tail end of ELEN's Summer Sapphic Swap, which is a free clothing exchange with vendors, iconic queer music and light snacks. Also featuring a mini bin sale with Fat Fruity Finds!! This picnic is for those in the YEG wlw community looking for romance and dating with a lightly guided mixer.

We are super lucky to be hosting this event inside the Pride Centre of Edmonton. Our casual indoor picnic will be housed in the Gamers Lounge on the second floor at the back end of the swap. Follow the signs and head past all the tables of clothes. You'll know you're in the right place when you see freestanding arcade machines and guitars!

We might be indoors, but this *IS* a potluck picnic. Bring a sharing item, if you can. You DO NOT have to offer something to take part or eat with us. Post or msg to tell us what you are serving. Please consider dietary and allergy restrictions and individually packed foods are often preferred. We will need munchies, dessert, drinks and picnic supplies. You can also donate to ELEN and we will pick up food for your convenience. Snacks and bevs will be available on-site by suggested donation.

Bring party and board games! Feel free to share or play from the PCE's extensive selection. You can also check out their absolutely incredible Queer book library and tons of community materials and resources.

Name and pronoun tags via the ELEN System will be available, opt-in. These denote what you are or are not looking for.

SkipTheUhaul is a place for connections and romance in Edmonton's 2S/LGBTQQIA+ community. We are a diverse, inclusive dating group meant for Sapphics+, Lesbians*, wlw, Queer, Trans*, 2Spirit and Non-Binary/gender variant folx 18+ in the YEG area with online interaction and in-person activities. Moderated/lead by the Edmonton Lesbian* Event Network. 

While the PCE is accessible, some folks may find the small elevator, stairs or narrow hallways challenging. Please contact us for further info. Accessibility info video coming soon.

Private washrooms and changerooms.

Parking options include free street spots a few minutes walking distance away. The swap has other slots in the week leading up to it to drop off clothing if you just want to bring yourselves and some food on the day.

The PCE is generously hosting us for free and everyone will be responsible for cleaning up their own garbage and mess. Please be considerate and leave the area as you found it.
