Skin in Motion | Somatic Dance | Amsterdam

An invitation into the living layers of the skin. Sensing the tingling, stretching, receiving and responding of the veil between our inner and outer worlds. Guided by sensation, we soften into our bodies and expand into the space around us. Discovering skin not as separation, but as connection between ourselves and the ecosystems we are a part of. Whether subtle or expansive- let yourself be moved from the inside out.

Somatic dance is a guided journey into the layers of the body. A deep listening, embodiment and expression of our internal landscapes. Guided by a carefully and intentionally curated soundscape, this is a trauma-informed container to drop out of the mind and into the body, weaving embodiment, eco-somatics and movement.

There is no choreography and no right or wrong way to move.

All bodies are welcome.

No previous dance or movement experience is needed.

-This is a phone free, talking free and barefoot space, helping us to remain present and grounded.

About the facilitator (Myra):

I am a physiotherapist of 8 years, a somatic dance facilitator, trained with Somatic Dance International and my passion for music has blossomed into beginning my journey as a DJ.

Weaving the fibres of deep anatomy and physiology knowledge with embodiement, eco somatics, dance, music and ritual, I have run somatic dance spaces in Bali, Portugal and the UK and am so excited to be bringing these journeys to Amsterdam.
