The best skin preparations can be costly, and even then we can’t always get exactly what we need. Join us for this little bit of a sample spa day and learn about the use of botanicals to protect, maintain and enjoy the feel and scent of healthy skin. Explore solutions for sun protection and burns, for revitalizing damaged skin, resolving acne, skin discolorations and inflammations of the skin. Then we’ll discover natural relief for poison oak and other dermatitis, foot fungus and those nasty skin parasites! We' ll cover the making of herb lotions, skin sprays, creams and powders. This is a perfect class for herb skincare makers to learn more chemistry and get creative insights. Be prepared to come away feeling and smelling wonderful.
Tuition Cost: $50 includes skin care as you learn and a take-home sample

About Your Instructor Heather Nic An Fhleisdeir
Throughout your journey into healing and wellness, Heather will be your guide.
She has been in clinical practice in herbalism, nutrition, aromatherapy and lifestyle changes for over 35 years and is a professional health educator.
As well as these classes and workshops, she also instructs in community colleges, at universities, herb conferences, herb schools, in her own Professional Herbalist Training Course and in the distance learning program: The Village Herbalist Independent Herb Study Course.
Heather holds three certificates of training herself in Herbalism, from The Oregon School of Herbal Studies and Brighid’s Academy of Healing Arts. She has additional training in nutrition and culinary arts, and served her clinical herbalist internship with a 20 year practicing Herbalist.
With a specialty in herbalism and nutritional healing, she has an encyclopedic knowledge of herb chemistry and nutrients, and the health concerns that they address. As an herbalist, her focus is to educate on the practical uses for herbs in everyday life. As a professional health educator she assists with understanding why specific health concerns happen, how to increase body vitality and what actions to take to improve health.
Her diverse herb practice is rooted in this community she serves as the proprietor of Mrs. Thompson's Herbs, an herb apothecary in downtown Eugene Oregon.
Having dedicated her life to sharing this wealth of knowledge, she has assisted thousands in reclaiming their own health process, in giving healing aid to their families and in becoming professional Herbalists themselves. She has achieved international recognition in her field, working in conjunction with Acupuncturists, Aestheticians, Allergists, Dermatologists, Medical Doctors and Naturopaths to help you achieve your skin health goals.
