About this Event

Skilled Hands is a hands-on natural hair workshop for youth who want to learn real styling skills, technique, and healthy curl care practices. This beginner-friendly class teaches foundational hair skills youth can use at home, in school, at work, or even as the first step toward entrepreneurship.

Participants will practice techniques on mannequin heads, learn product basics, master gentle detangling, explore beginner braiding and twisting foundations, and understand how to maintain natural hair safely and confidently.

This session is engaging, confidence-building, and designed to empower youth with practical hands-on skills that support independence, creativity, and future opportunities.

Participants will receive a full starter kit with wash day products, detangling, hydrating tools, satin protection, and essential styling accessories — everything needed to build a strong foundation in natural hair care.
