Hey all!! I am BACK in town! 😁 I have a pretty bad cold though, so I may need to stay home to recuperate tonight. 😭 John, Jose, and Tyler should be there to help lead. I hope y'all have a great time! IMPORTANT REMINDER: All newbies and intermediate skaters should be there for a 7:30 sharp roll out. This gives an hour and a half of skating. We will be at the front of the pier at 8:20 to pick up more skaters. Then the advanced skate will depart at 9pm.
Hey y'all! This is the Tuesday skill practice skate! This event is for all skill levels, from very beginner to very advanced! The skate gets more advanced as the night goes on, but is it also depends on the needs of the group.
Each week looks a bit different, but this is an example of what the night might look like.
Part 1 - 7:30 to 8:00 - We devote this time to helping out beginners who are working on the basics. Make sure your skates are on and you are ready to start at 7:30 so we have a full 30 minutes!
8:00-8:20 - This is when the rest of the skaters should be arriving for the main skate!
Part 2 - 8:20 to 9:20 - Novice/intermediate/advanced skate. We skate some to warm up and then stop to work on individual skills. We will sometimes do cones, or run through obstacles courses, play group games like tag, throw or kick a ball around, other events, or a combination of things! We should remain within a set area, usually on the pier, so that everyone can participate.
Part 3 - 9:20p to 11:00p - This is the time set aside for moving fast, but also making stops to work on more advanced skill sets. We may jump/roll down stairs, speed skate through the city, bomb parking garages, etc. Of course, if everyone is having a good time, sometimes we may not branch off from the novice/intermediate skaters. It depends on the mood of the group!
