Sketchvenger Hunt: A City Sketch Quest

Your mission, should you choose to accept it: join us for Sketchvenger Hunt, a playful, low-pressure sketching adventure through Hingetown.

It’s a neighborhood walk with a sketch challenge! How many prompts can you sketch? You’ll receive a “TOP SECRET” mission envelope with bite-sized prompts (think: “Draw a bike that you see", "Sketch a cool looking tree", "Sketch your favorite place to get a coffee" and lots more!).

Explore nearby Hingetown spots, fill your mini sketchbook, and return for a cozy, coffee-fueled community art show, where we will vote on some fun categories with prizes! This event is fun and open to all skill levels - it's about celebrating the wildly different ways we all see the world.

Here's what's included:

Adults:

• One sketchbook
• One sketch pencil with eraser

Kids:

• One kid -friendly sketchbook
• One pack of colored pencils

Feel free to bring your own additional sketch supplies!

1. Stay on public property. Do not walk onto private property, porches, or yards. If you’re sketching a home or building, do so from the sidewalk.
2. Be aware of your surroundings. Keep an eye on traffic, bikers, and other pedestrians while sketching.
3. Cross streets safely. Use crosswalks and look both ways, your sketchbook can wait until you’re on the other side.
4. Watch your kiddos. Children must stay with their adult at all times. This is not a drop-off event.
5. Be kind to businesses. If you sketch inside a café or shop, please purchase something and be respectful.
6. Leave no trace. Please don’t litter or leave art supplies behind. Take everything you brought out with you.
7. Stay within the route. Keep to the Hingetown area outlined in your mission card, don’t wander too far.
8. Time check! You have 90 minutes. Be back at HQ (Verbena) by 12:00 PM sharp for the community art show.
9. Most important rule: Have fun, stay safe, and sketch boldly! 🎨
