DAY 1 April 28, 2024 | Colors Essense Exploration in Maru's unique mixed-media style
We have two unique workshop sessions planned for April 28. You have the option to buy single session tickets for $85 one or both as a bundle for $150.
Workshop 1 Ticket Price: $85
Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm Location: Lake Eola Southeast Lawn (20 North Eola Drive Orlando, FL 32801) Meeting Spot: Lake Eola Farmers Market on the Park's Southeast Lawn
We will practice various techniques to loosen up your hand: colored pencils, neocolor, graphite pencil, and explore different gouache densities. Learn to create mixed media textures for a fluid dialogue between color forms and lines by combining different materials. We'll study greens (near and far), and capture the bustling atmosphere of the farmers' market. You'll learn to use different dry and wet technique materials, combining them to achieve a rich, dynamic look. Apply these techniques to urban greens and bustling spaces.
Workshop 2 Ticket Price: $85
Time: 3:00pm - 6:00pm Location: Lake Eola Park Peninsula (566 E. Robinson St. Orlando, FL 32803) Meeting Spot: Lake Eola North/East at the peninsula near the Pagoda
We will focus on composition principles, balancing visual rhythm, and experimenting with space deformation. Experience synthesis with micro-sketches and non-local color. We'll work on mixed media panorama, with previous studies of color and composition. You'll learn composition tricks, space deformations for attractive visual readings, and color and shape synthesis studies to highlight elements in your sketches. We'll use dry techniques (graphite, colored pencils, crayons) and wet techniques (gouache and watercolor).
Parking: Please note that parking around Lake Eola Park can be limited. We recommend reserving your parking spot in advance to ensure a hassle-free experience. Online parking reservations can be made through en.parkopedia.com
