ABOUT THE SPEAKER: From OJ Simpson to the Menendez brothers, Dolly Parton to Britney Spears, and hundreds of celebrity and notable trials in between, Mona Shafer Edwards has had a front row seat in covering some of the most important cases in California history. With pen and marker to paper, she has documented her Courtroom Illustrations for National and International Television Networks, Publications, News magazines, and private collections. Mona is a recipient of a Society of Professional Journalists Award and a Golden Mike: Radio and Television News Association’s Freedom of Information Award. She is the author of “Captured! Inside the World of Celebrity Trials”. Mona is a freelance illustrator based in Los Angeles, and is a Fashion Artist as well; Illustrator and co-author of eleven books on Fashion Design and Fashion Illustration, for HarperCollins Publishers, and Prentice Hall. She has covered the Oscars On the Red Carpet, the Grammys, and many Live-sketching Events, including Weddings!
ABOUT THE CLUB: Founded in 1925, the Los Angeles Breakfast Club still thrives with food, friendship, and fun. Our meetings are held in our clubhouse, Friendship Auditorium, located at 3201 Riverside Drive, near the corner of Los Feliz Boulevard, in Griffith Park. Best described as a variety show, attendees enjoy a catered breakfast, silly songs, club traditions, and an interesting presentation from a guest speaker.
TICKETS: Sales on labreakfastclub.com close 48 hours before breakfast. Non-members are $35 and Members receive a 34% discount when logged into their Membership Portal.
Please arrive between 6:45 - 7:00 AM sharp! Doors close at 7:15 AM. Your admission includes a buffet breakfast, enjoyment of our 100-year-old club traditions, plus a special presentation from our Speaker of the Week!
