Sketch Level Three: Performing the Show
About this Event
Let’s put on a show! In this seven week class, students will put together everything they learned from Levels 1 and 2 and learn how to write, produce, and perform in an hour long sketch comedy show! Students will write and refine sketches centered on a chosen theme, working as a group to brainstorm different premises and ideas. Students will write and refine their sketches and other pieces with feedback from their instructor. In the final weeks of class, with the guidance of their instructor as director, the class will put their work up on its feet, focusing on blocking, staging, and acting, with a focus on the audience and the overall shape of the show. This class will culminate in a run of performances at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater. The prerequisite for this class in Sketch Levels One and Two at Stomping Ground Comedy Theater.
This course will focus on:
- Braining storming and pitching sketch ideas
- Writing and refining sketches and other comic pieces
- Blocking and staging comedic scenes for an audience
- Acting and performing the show
This is a recurring class for seven weeks on Wednesdays from 7-9:30pm starting Wednesday, September 2. The instructor is Lindsay Goldapp. All sales are final. Classes are non-refundable but enrollment may be deferred to a future class with TCD approval. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older.
