Sketch Journaling - Capturing Every Day Adventures in Pen and Watercolor with Rebecca Newton

Sketching and journaling are ways to study the world around, to capture ideas, moments, and memories. In this session, we will explore methods for simplifying subjects, capturing scenes, and supporting sketches with narrative, creative writing, or poetry. We will cover some color basics like simplifying palettes and mixing using watercolor paints, and will practice supporting drawings with color.
Materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring a favorite sketchbook to work in. Having a smartphone or tablet with personal photos or the ability to look up photos for reference images is strongly encouraged. Some printed reference photos will be available for practice.
