Sketch Comedy Hour

For one night only, The Maple Daddies and Drop the Root Beer and Run, two of the premier sketch groups in the Northwest are doing a show at Lumora Art Lab with an opening set from Not Clickbait improv.

Listen up, rubes! Maple Daddies are here to politely present you with a wonderful time. Originally formed in 2017, Maple Daddies have recently acquired 50% more dads. in what some experts are calling the trade of the century, and are all here to become your collective fathers through the medium of comedy. Clad in Hawaiian shirts, Maple Daddies bring with them a taste of the Seattle scene, seeking to delight the audience with a wholesome and bizarre comedic style. The dads bring home a healthy dose of haha-goof-em-ups with ultra specific details to create their vaudevillian summer camp vibe. Collectively our members have been featured at festivals in Seattle, Portland, New York, Toronto, Denver, Washington D.C., Chicago, and Philadelphia.

Drop the Root Beer and Run mixes weird dances about color maroon, houses full of pants, and orange juice anxiety medication into a blender. Then we pour it into a nice tall glass. It has all the vitamins and minerals a growing audience member needs.Since they formed in the wilds of Olympia, WA in 2011, Drop the Root Beer and Run have been spreading their unique brand of sketch comedy all over North America. They have performed in Seattle Sketchfest, Portland Sketchfest, Denver Sketchfest, DC Sketchfest, Bumbershoot Arts and Music Festival, and Vancouver Sketchfest. They think you're really cool and want to be friends, but are intimidated by your extensive jazz record collection.
