Sketch class – long pose with Marshall Jones

As of January 2023, Marshall Jones will unfortunately no longer continue to teach classes. Sketch classes will continue but will be led by instructors selected by Marshall Jones.

Salmagundi offers a variety of Art Classes, all open to the public. Spots must be reserved ahead of time. We can not accept cash that day or credit card purchases at the time of the class. Attendees must bring their own art supplies. Please use either dry medium or a wet medium that is water-soluble. Easels and tables are provided. Models are provided for sketch classes.

About Marshall Jones

An accomplished figurative painter, Marshall Jones was the recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Grant in 2008. He was also awarded the Phyllis Mason Grant in 2009 as well as the Jean Gates Grant from the Art Students League of New York. As a scholarship member of the Salmagundi Club, he has been twice awarded the Richard Pionk award at the annual members show. In 2010 he was awarded the Fantasy Fountain Fund Travel Scholarship which enabled him to study at the Paris American Academy.

Marshall Jones has taught figure drawing and painting at the Art Students League of New York and Studio 371 in Jersey City. He works and teaches out of his studio in Hell’s Kitchen.
