Sketch 201 (Thursdays 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

Learn to write and perform sketch comedy in Coalition's intermediate course! Build on the fundamental lessons you learned in Sketch 101 to expand your comedic repetoire and write new kinds of comedy sketches. Cap off your course with a dedicated showcase performance at the Coalition Theater!

Dates: The class runs Thursdays starting 5/28/2026 and running for 8 weeks. Note that a week may be skipped due to holidays or the Coalition's Second Best Fest comedy festival.

A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of August 2nd (or potentially the week of July 27th, pending class availability and holiday scheduling).

Instructor: Cassidy Gresham

Cassidy Gresham is so excited to teach here at the lovely Coalition Theater. She began her writing career at Clemson University, majoring in Psychology and Playwriting. This allowed her to combine two of her favorite things; people watching and writing crazy stories about it. Currently, she runs an indie sketch writing group called "Island of Misfit Sketchers". They just put on their first show, "Sock and Awe" and it was AWESOME! Her goal is to allow students to enjoy a friendly atmosphere and share their works with like-minded weirdos. In her downtime, Cassidy plays with her various critters, dresses her service dog, Hammy, in tiny hats and house manages at the theater.

Prerequisites: Sketch 101, or equivalent classes at a comparable institution. Email [email protected] with questions.

Cost: $250 (Early Bird: $220)

The Coalition Theater is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Once classes begin, all sales are final. We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise that prevent you from attending or completing your registered class. While we do our best to accommodate such situations, refunds are awarded only as credit for a future class or shows and are subject to the discretion of The Coalition Theater management. Requests for refunds will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and any decisions regarding refunds will be made at the discretion of the theater.
