David Åhlén creates exploratory music, blending neoclassical, minimalist, electronic, and experimental elements into a contemplative sound shaped by an explicitly sacred and devotional sensibility.
After four years of silence, David Åhlén returns with his fifth album - an ambient tapestry shaped by grief, stillness, and renewal. A critically acclaimed musician, painter and son of a preacher, Åhlén has moved freely across various musical terrains over the years, from sparse singer-songwriter hymns to electroacoustic and ambient compositions, always guided by a search for spiritual clarity. Written in the wake of a burnout and a subsequent period of inner reflection, Impartation gathers nine compositions that feel less like songs and more like offerings. Pieces born from church services sit beside lamenting and sculpting instrumentals, juxtaposed with vocal abstracts from Åhlén himself and vocalist Rebecka Karlsson.
The new album Impartation (release April 17) will be released on the revived iconic 90s label atrium, known for its boundary crossing catalogue between folk and avant-garde.

Gustaf Järver (Trädet/arp.O/Sounds of Nonno) is now releasing a collection of selected previously unreleased ambient electronic works. These pieces were specially commissioned for dance and performance art and were composed between 2014 and 2026. The release also includes a newly written piece for the upcoming project “gammafly.”
The music will be presented in a DJ set with a strong focus on live visual expression. The release is titled “Selected Ambient/Arp-Drone Works” and will be available digitally.
