SJ McDonald at Runaround Stue's (Marietta, GA)

We're really happy that SJ McDonald is able to join us in July. She's an incredible singer and songwriter, and it's going to be a fun night!
We've been fortunate enough to see SJ at the Dripping Springs Songwriters Festival outside of Austin and the Lake Martin Songwriters Festival in Alabama, and we can't wait to have her play at Runaround Stue's!
SJ McDonald is a rising country artist from the rolling hills of Rockbridge Baths, Virginia, where she grew up working on her family farm and shaping a sound that blends grit, heart, and 90s-country nostalgia. A first-place winner in American Songwriter’s Traditional Country category and the NASCAR Nashville Superspeedway Headlining Artist, she’s been featured in Billboard’s “Must Hear New Country Songs”.
A true farmer’s daughter, SJ cut her teeth on stages across the Southeast from a young age, fronting bands for years and playing over 75 shows annually. Her breakout single “Honky Tonk Pie” captures the grind of chasing a dream as a woman in country music, drawing from her years singing for tips on Nashville’s Lower Broadway.
She’s currently on tour with Emily Ann Roberts, John Anderson, and Cooper Alan, with her debut EP “Sweet At First” produced by Andy Sheridan released in December 2025. SJ McDonald is carving her own lane in traditional country — bringing authentic stories and blue-collar charm to a new generation of listeners.
We will have a potluck dinner before the show. If you would like to join, please bring a dish to share. Our current plan is to make porchetta for sandwiches for dinner.
Please bring your own drinks.
Feel free to come by anytime after 5:30. We'll eat around 6, and then SJ will start around 7.
We will be outside. This is a rain-or-shine show. In case of rain, we hope to be able to squeeze onto the covered porch, as we have in the past.
As with the other concerts we have hosted, this will be a "listening room" experience. Please be polite and limit conversation while SJ is performing.
SJ will have merch available, and tipping would certainly be appreciated. (Apparently we shouldn't be suggesting a tip amount so that we don't have any issues with the county, but I'm sure SJ would appreciate $20-25...or more.)
