About this Event
On 6-9 June 2024, 400 million Europeans were eligible to vote in the European Parliament’s elections. One month later, 47 million British adults could vote in the UK’s general election. While these elections will have changed much about how Britain and Europe are governed, they also have something to say about populism and the changes in public opinion right across Britain and the European continent, and above all for young people.
At this round-table event for A level students, leading university professors who research the politics of elections and young people will talk about their findings from these latest elections and take questions. The event is offered as a taster for any students thinking of applying to study Politics at university. Presenters include Professor Sara Hobolt (London School of Economics), Dr Miriam Sorace (University of Reading), and Professor James Sloam (Royal Holloway, University of London).
This event is organised by the Jean Monnet Chair of European Politics at Royal Holloway, University of London, and is co-funded by the European Union. It is organised with the cooperation of the European Parliament’s office in London.
