About this Event
Join the Villa Kitchen and Six Rows Café team for an interactive, hands-on introduction to the craft and science of specialty coffee. Whether you are an aspiring barista, an inquisitive home brewer, or simply looking to expand your palate, this beginner foundation session provides the essential sensory tools.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & EXPERIENCE:
• Origin Stories & Terroir: Discover the journey of specialty coffee from farm to cup and how origin shapes regional flavor profiles.
• Processing & Roast Degrees: Learn how washing, natural processing, and roast levels influence body, acidity, aroma, and sweetness.
• Sensory & Tasting Vocabulary: Practice using the specialty coffee flavor wheel to identify notes and articulate what you taste.
• Guided Cupping Session: Experience an authentic, hands-on coffee cupping protocol, comparing distinct roasts side-by-side.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Open to community members and TSU students (Pre-Launch session). No prior coffee or culinary experience is required.
