Step behind the bar for an immersive, hands-on masterclass led by the Six Rows Café and Villa Kitchen team. The Advanced Home Barista Intensive is designed for dedicated coffee hobbyists, prosumer espresso owners, and aspiring hospitality professionals looking to master commercial barista workflows.
This half-day intensive dives deep into the variables that dictate espresso quality and teaches practical milk texturing and pouring mechanics through focused station practice.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN & PRACTICE:
• Bean Chemistry & Dialing In: Evaluate roast date, density, and grind distribution. Learn how to calculate brew ratios, yield, and extraction time using precision scales.
• Espresso Mechanics & Troubleshooting: Master distribution, puck preparation, level tamping, and diagnosing channeling vs. even extraction.
• Milk Science & Microfoam: Understand milk protein and fat thermodynamics. Learn wand positioning, aeration, and texturing silky, glossy microfoam.
• Hands-On Latte Art Clinic: Step-by-step coaching on flow rate, pitcher tilt, drop height, and wrist mechanics to pour hearts, tulips, and rosettas.
• Preventive Maintenance: Proper backflushing, group head cleaning, steam wand sanitation, and daily machine care.
