On behalf of Aurecon and the Property Council, you have the exclusive opportunity to visit Banksian House and enjoy a morning tea in the renovated and refurbished establishment.Constructed in 1941, Banksian House is a heritage-listed residence that sits within an historic precinct at RAAF Darwin. It was originally built to be the commanding officer’s residence and was occupied by RAAF Darwin’s first commanding officer, Charles Eaton. The property fell into disuse in the 1990's and suffered serious dilapidation over decades of vacancy.
Since its restoration completed in mid-2021, Banksian House has returned service to many VIP functions and hosted multiple high-ranking military members from both Australian Forces and visiting Foreign Forces. The Chief of Air Force and partner were accommodated on the lead up to exercise Pitch Black in 2022 and gave effusive feedback on the significance of the residence being of a high calibre, whilst sympathetic to the era it was built in.
