About this Event
Class Time/Dates: 7:00pm-10:00pm on Tuesdays // October 13, 20, Nov 3, 10, 17, 24, Dec 1, 8
Schedule: 8 sessions; once a week for eight weeks, 2 performances
Class size: 12 students maximum
Prerequisite: Foundation 6 or equivalent experience.

Who would you play if you were cast in a Situation Comedy? The protagonist? The best friend? The egoist? The romantic? The quirky eccentric? The hustler? Who around you would be a great character in a SitCom? This class will explore some different worlds where a new sitcom could take place and people them with loveable, quickly recognizable characters.
We will work on making strong choices quickly, so your castmates know who you are. We will also work on character consistency, by playing the same characters in multiple improvised episodes. The final shows will have 2-3 22 minute episodes per show. The class builds on earlier explorations of Screwball Comedy, Comedy Technique, Farce, Tennessee Williams & Jane Austen.
This class culminates in two performance showcases!
We have community standards, a conflict process, and a COVID prevention policy in place. Agreement/acceptance of these policies is required to participate in BATS classes. Refunds / Transfers / Exchanges
All BATS Improv class registrations are final, and we’re not able to offer refunds or transfers once you’ve enrolled.
Canceled Classes
If we need to cancel a class due to low enrollment, illness, or other surprises, you’ll receive a class credit good through the end of the calendar year. Credits can be applied to any BATS Improv class for which you've satisfied the prerequisites, or gifted to a friend or family member.
