Sister Suzie
Sister Suzie will be returning to the Country Soul and it really has been far too long. Hailing from the northernmost tip of Northumberland it was her love of singing R&B that initially took Sister Suzie to the musical melting pot that is New Orleans, carrying with her, influences such as Elmore James, Irma Thomas and Willie Mae (Big Mama) Thornton. On returning to the UK to continue her musical adventure she moved to Hastings where she now resides. "A little lady with a big voice” yes, a big voice! Sister Suzie sings to the infectious rhythm & blues backbeat supplied by her fantastic band featuring: Andy Twyman on guitar, Linze Maesterosa on Sax, Andy Francis on Bass and Wes Brown on Drums. We are so pleased that Sister Suzie will be singing for us once again. Come and see this effervescent and life affirming performer do what she does...

Florence Joelle
We are always delighted to see Florence Joelle and her great band perform at the Country Soul Sessions. A Parisian based in London Florence Joelle has created her own musical landscape. Touches of blues, gypsy jazz, 1950's rhythm n' blues can all be heard in her lovingly crafted compositions. Her three album releases Kiss Of Fire (2011), Stealing Flowers (2013) and Life Is Beautiful If You Let It (2016) have all been well received and provided a complimenting musical document to this unique singer and personality. In late 2023 Florence collaborated with London based outfit Tiny Flaws on their EP release ‘More Flaws’ by lending her captivating vocals to the project. For this Session Florence will be accompanied by David Wilson on guitar, Mike Searl on Bass and James Edmunds on Drums. Don’t miss her….
