SISSY Book Launch & Reading

SISSY is a docupoetic collection by rural trans and queer poet Canese Jarboe, released by Garden-Door Press in Ithaca, NY this fall. It's an exploration of queer rurality braided with the history of gay rodeo and queer activism in the heartland.

Canese Jarboe is a transmasculine poet and author of SISSY (Garden-Door Press, 2024) and the chapbook dark acre (Willow Springs Books, 2018). They are a 2024 Tallgrass Artist-in-Residence and PhD candidate in Creative Writing at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
