Főiskolai feladatból zenei karrier - a Sir Chloe először Budapesten.A Sir Chloe eredetileg egy főiskolai szakdolgozat miatt verbuválódott össze, mostanra pedig sikeres zenekarrá vált Dana Foote csapata Az amerikai csapat melankolikus indie-popjával a TikTokot is meghódította, június 26-án pedig mi is megismerhetjük őket a Dürer Kertben.
A Sir Chloe egy alig öt éve alakult projekt, s a zenekar története elég rendhagyó módon kezdődött. Dana Foote, a zenekar énekesnője először furulyán és trombitán tanult játszani, majd egy olyan zenei főiskolára járt Vermontban, ahol végzősként szakdolgozat helyett koncerteket adtak a diákok. Dana egy ilyen alkalomra verbuvált össze egy produkciót, amiből aztán a Sir Chloe lett.
A dobok mögé Dana bátyja, Palmer Foote ült be, basszusgitáron Emma Welch játszik, őket gitáron Teddy O’Mara, billentyűs hangszereken pedig Austin Holmes kíséri. Zeneileg magukat az alternatív garázs-rock és a dark pop közé teszik, de szeretik csak egyszerűen gitár alapú zeneként meghatározni, amit csinálnak.
Szakmai körök szerint hangulatban teljesen autentikusan hozzák a kétezres évek közepén népszerűvé vált indie, indie-pop hangzást, a kilencvenes éveket idéző melankolikus, depressziós dalszövegeik pedig már most időtállónak hatnak.
A Sir Chloe-t hallgatni olyan, mintha a fiók mélyén találtál volna egy kazettát, amit 1992-ben kaptál a nagybátyádtól, de elfelejtetted, és most az eredeti csomagolásából kibontva először van alkalmad meghallgatni. Inspirációként a The Velvet Underground, a Pixies, a Bikini K*ll és Courtney Barnett neveit említik, és annak ellenére, hogy az ‘Animal’ és a ‘Michelle’ című dalaiknak köszönhetően a TikTok-on lettek ismertebbek, inkább a zenekarok azon klasszikus vonalát képviselik, akik csak zenét írni és turnézni szeretnének mindenféle sztárallűrök és sallang nélkül. Bemutatkozó (kis)lemezük 2020-ban jelent meg ‘Party Favors’ címmel, azóta pedig folyamatosan adják ki egyesével az új dalokat, a legújabb Hooves címmel a napokban érkezik.
A Sir Chloe zenéje a Myspace-en kezdődött indie forradalmat idézi, aki részese volt, tudja jól, miért nem érdemes kihagyni a zenekar első budapesti koncertjét, akinek pedig mindez új, azért merüljön el a zenéjükben június 26-án, az Dürer Kertben.

From college to a career in music - Sir Chloe in Budapest for the first time Sir Chloe originally came together for a college thesis, and now Dana Foote’s band has grown into a successful band. The American Sir Chloe has conquered TikTok with their melancholic indie-pop, and on 26th June we can see their first Hungarian show at the Dürer Kert.
Sir Chloe is a project that was formed just five years ago, and the band’s story began in a rather unusual way. The band’s lead singer, Dana Foote, first learned to play the flute and trumpet, then went to a music college in Vermont where students performed concerts instead of thesis work as seniors.
For one such occasion, Dana put together a performance that became Sir Chloe. Dana’s brother Palmer Foote was behind the drums, Emma Welch on bass, Teddy O’Mara on guitar and Austin Holmes on keyboards. Musically, they place themselves somewhere between alternative garage rock and dark pop, but they like to define what they do as simply guitar-based music. In terms of atmosphere, they are considered by experts to bring a completely authentic indie, indie-pop sound that became popular in the mid-twenties, and their melancholic, depressive lyrics, reminiscent of the nineties, already feel timeless.
Listening to Sir Chloe is like finding a cassette in the bottom of a drawer that your uncle gave you in 1992, but you forgot about it, and now you have the chance to listen to it for the first time, unwrapped from its original packaging.
They cite that they get inspirations from bands such as The Velvet Underground, The Pixies, Bikini K*ll and Courtney Barnett and despite being best known on TikTok for their songs ‘Animal’ and ‘Michelle’, they are more along the classic lines of bands who just want to write music and tour without all the star power and frills. Their debut album ‘Party Favors’ was released in 2020, and since then they have been releasing new songs one by one, with the latest one ‘Hooves’coming out soon.
Sir Chloe’s music is reminiscent of the indie revolution that started on Myspace, you’ll know why you shouldn’t miss the band’s first Budapest show, and if you’re new to all this, you should immerse yourself in their music on 26th June at Dürer Kert.
