Sips & Stitching at KOVAL
About this Event
Learn to repair holes, rips, and tears in your favorite garment by sewing a decorative patch. This class will take you from a holey garment to a repaired garment by the end of the class!
Bring one of the following items to patch:
- denim or twill jeans
- denim jacket
- button down shirt
- bucket hat
- this technique is best for worn elbows or knees or a hole somewhere in the middle (rather than the thigh, for example!). Or stitch a patch onto a bucket hat or the like!
We'll have plenty of fabric scraps, thread, needles, pins, and scissors to patch your item.
This is for anyone who:
- would like to hand sew a fun project
- wants to get out of your house for a break
- learn to repair a small hole in a garment
- wants to sew with sashiko thread
- is a beginner or beyond
- ages 21+
This technique is best for:
- 100% cotton or denim with 5% stretch or less or no-stretch denim
- 100% cotton clothing or clothing with 5% stretch or less
- Not meant for knit clothing, like t-shirts, for example
What's included:
- tools and materials to make and attach a patch to an item of clothing
- ticket includes one drink from the KOVAL bar while you sew!
Refunds are available 7 days before the event starts minus Eventbrite fees, but are otherwise non-refundable.
