Celebrate the true meaning of Friday the13th, “The Day of the Goddess”
What you'll do
Did you know that before patriarchal times, Friday the 13th was considered “The Day of the Goddess?” It was a day to celebrate and honour the goddess that lives in all of us and to show respect to the cycles of creation, death, and rebirth.
Join us as we take the opportunity to reconnect with and celebrate femininity in all its forms, reclaiming the origins of this very powerful day through creativity, sisterhood, awareness and sharing.
In this fun and cheeky class, our experienced instructor Beck, from Hey Monet, will help you discover the joy of sculpting and creating with air-dry clay, while Jo from The Soulistic Haven (Holistic Counsellor and Sexual Empowerment & Intimacy Coach) will get the conversations flowing around femininity and the importance of sisterhood for our health and wellbeing.
If you’re new to air dry clay, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you pick up the skills as Beck guides you every step of the way, sharing the basics of hand building techniques and empowering you to unleash your “Inner Sculptress.”
By the end of the night, you will walk away with your very own unique clay torso vase to proudly display in your home, and an understanding of how deeply satisfying it is to work with your hands in this tactile, therapeutic activity.
*Please note that air dry clay cannot hold water upon drying. These vases are for dry or artificial flowers.
Knowledge required
Beginners to more experienced welcome.
What you'll get
-All materials and tools to create a gorgeous torso vase.
-A complete vase or two to take home.
-Freedom to create whatever you like if you aren’t feeling connected with the torso vases.
-The opportunity to learn, share and connect with friends, family and like-minded individuals.
-Some serious fun and giggles
What to bring
· We invite you to BYO drinks and bring along a plate to share with your fellow Goddesses (please note there are no cooking facilities).
· We would love it if you came along wearing something that celebrates your femininity. Eg. your fave lippy, dress, perfume, or even your sexiest lingerie. Whatever makes you feel connected to your femininity.
