Sip, Tour & Connect: K-12 Educator Open House at Weeksville Heritage Center

On Tuesday, November 18, Weeksville Heritage Center is opening its doors to K-12 teachers and school administrators for an evening of connection, conversation, and a tour of the Hunterfly Road Houses. The evening begins with a brief presentation in the Multipurpose Room on Weeksville’s educational offerings and how its history connects to what happens in your classroom. Guests then move to the Atrium for wine and cheese before a guided tour of the houses, among the most significant surviving structures of free Black life in pre-Civil War America.

Weeksville’s K-12 programs connect students directly to the history of one of the nation’s largest free Black communities. This evening is an opportunity to explore those resources, meet our education team, and discover new ways to bring that history to life for your students.

Free and open to K-12 educators and school administrators.

We look forward to welcoming you to Weeksville Heritage Center.
