About this Event

Hosted at Chain Reaction Brewing by local fiber artist Contour and Thread, celebrate the season by learning a beautiful, no-sew traditional craft! Join us for a crafting session where you’ll create your own summer-themed landscape and leave with a beautiful piece of textured textile art ready to display.

What is Kinusaiga? Often called "fabric inlay" or "painting with fabric," Kinusaiga is a traditional Japanese art form where beautiful fabric scraps are tucked into a grooved board to create a detailed image. No sewing, threading, or prior crafting experience required! It is incredibly meditative, rhythmic, and perfect for beginners.

What’s Included:
  • All Supplies Provided: You’ll get a pre-prepped foam backing board, design templates, and access to a vibrant curation of high-quality fabric scraps. Beer and seltzer available for purchase.
  • Hands-on Instruction: Step-by-step guidance to master the scoring and tucking technique.
  • A Finished Piece: Your own handmade, summer-inspired masterpiece to take home.

  • Time: 2 hours - August 8th, 1:00pm-3:00pm
