FEATURED HEADLINER: Shafraz Augustine Ladak
Shaf is a multi-time Calgary slam champion and has represented the city in national literary festivals across Canada. He was the 2024 Calgary Slam Champion and represented Calgary at the Canadian Individual Poetry Slam Championships, tying for 3rd place in the country.
He has served as the Director of Communications for the Calgary Poetry Slam since 2017, fostering a safe, inclusive creative space for artists to grow in their craft and share their art. His body of work encapsulates his lived experiences with mental illness, drug addiction, and the fight for global social justice.
