Singing The Bones Song Circle w Lydia Violet, Kele Nitoto & M'Gilvry Allen

Join us for a rich bounty of community singing and connection as we weave together songs from many traditions.

All proceeds go toward recording our first album. We have an incredible collection of diasporic music that we have shaped together over the last two years, and we're ready to capture and share this year. Lydia will share songs from her Iranian and Armenian heritages, rich with poetry and longing. M'Gilvry Allen will share fiddle tunes and ballads from his Scottish and Irish ancestries, luring us in with rhythm and strings. And Kele Nitoto will share music from Haiti, Congo, and South Africa, drawing from his multiple generations of a musical family from Oakland itself.
Come learn our songs and the songs we love and help us get some money together to create this art!

No experience necessary - if you can speak, you can sing. Whether you're an experienced musician or a shower singer, you are welcome here. We'll teach everything by ear, creating a supportive space for all voices to join together.
