TRYOUT SESSION!
There's a free tryout session on Thursday 16th January in the Bergmansalen of Mäster Olofsgården (Svartmanagatan 6, Gamla Stan), 18:30-20:15! It has its own Facebook event, check the event discussion!
ABOUT THE CHOIR
The Singing Sisterhood was founded not so long ago, in January 2024, by Kim Gajraj.
The singers agree that the word “choir” does not quite satisfy us as a way to describe us- although it’s the closest word we have.
We are a group of women of varied ages and professions who share a common love of singing. 💘
And, we share a commitment to each step boldly into our unique flavour of power and ways we shine, while supporting each other to do the same. 🔥🥰
It was an act of courage for me Kim to start this choir and choose to teach only original songs. 🥹
I either write original songs especially for the choir, or arrange solo songs so that the choir makes them shine in a new way 😍

AUDITION BY JANUARY 23RD, TERM STARTS JANUARY 30TH
This group sings in multi-part harmonies and you do need to audition. I (Kim) am not super strict, but you do need to be able to sing back a melody you hear, have a good sense of rhythm, and stay on your line of song even when someone else is singing something different.
This is what the audition checks for !
You record your audition from home and send it in by email, all the info is on the webpage, and you're welcome to reach out to me Kim on Facebook or via email [email protected] if you have questions or want support with the audition.
The full info is on the webpage but if "audition" sounds scary I really recommend you just come and meet us at the tryout session on January 16th, and we'll reassure and pep you 🤗

COMMITMENT
The intention of this choir is to be pretty darn tight and musically great while also saying a big F*** You to perfectionism! Being expressive and free, and being together, take precedence over being perfect. 😇😈
So you can see that there is a line to walk here. A line where we do strive to be a great choir, while we also let go of being good at the same time.
So, while we have a lot of fun and we play, laugh and joke together and make sure we really enjoy our time together, there is a level of commitment required to be part of this group.
You are expected to attend at least 70% of our sessions.
In a choir format like this where we want to learn a good repertoire of songs in different harmony parts - your attendance matters!
Think of this as a commitment to a musical group that needs you to show up - rather than a workshop or circle you can dip in and out of as you choose.
Of course, life happens. All songs are recorded and put online so that you can practice at home, and if you miss a session, you're expected to make it up by learning and practising at home.
