A new Singing Mamas (& babies!) group is starting in central Brighton for a 6 week period. Taking place at the lovely Afrori Bookshop, Brighthelm Centre, BN1 1YD
These supportive singing sessions are open to ALL women (not just mums!) — we welcome grandmothers, students, working women, freelancers, retirees .. women at all stages of life, with or without children.
Part of a national network of singing groups for wellbeing, our new group is hosted by Liz Ikamba and Emma Joanne.
Expect a warm, friendly space where everyone is welcome— no singing experience needed! Group singing boosts mental and physical well-being by lifting moods, building connections, and reducing stress. It also works wonders for little ones too, who get so much out of being in a calming space with beautiful singing & harmonies going on all around them!

Each session includes an hour of singing (from empowering chants, song rounds and lullabies, to pop and global music), followed by time to connect with other women and mothers. Refreshments will be available to purchase at Afrori Book Shop.
All songs are taught by ear—no sheet music or auditions required. The focus is on having fun and connecting, not on perfect singing!
