Singing Circle | Jamaica Pond

Special Note: Our 8/3 Circle will be held outdoors at Jamaica Pond, at the "Pinebank Promontory," or under the bandstand in case of rain.

, we inspire deeper connection to ourselves, each other, and the Earth through song. We believe in the healing, freedom, and joy that can come through communal singing, and aim to make that experience more widely accessible.

What to Expect: Our monthly JP & Cambridge circles are the foundation of what we offer and a great first entry point to our community. We sing for presence, not perfection, weaving together simple, repeatable songs taught call-and-response with playful, accessible vocal improv games and exercises. Everything is an invitation and all are welcome, no matter your relationship with your voice.

Special Update: While these JP circles are usually hosted indoors at Hope Central Church, for August we are moving outdoors to sing by Jamaica Pond!

Timing: We'll start with a bring-your-own picnic dinner at 6:15 and then sing 6:45 - 8:15pm. Sunset is at 8:03 and sundown is at 8:37.

Bring: a water bottle, blanket to sit on, and a picnic dinner / snacks to share if you'd like.

RSVP & Cost: We encourage RSVPs through Eventbrite, but walk-ins are welcome too. Sliding Scale $10-30. You can pay through eventbrite, pay cash at the door, or venmo @bostonareasingingcircles. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Location: Jamaica Pond is a 20 minute walk from the Green Street or Stony Brook stops on the Orange Line. There is free street parking available nearby. We will meet at the Pinebank Promontory, a beautiful open and secluded spot. The paths leading there are paved and wheelchair-accessible, and our gathering spot will be flat and grassy. In case of rain, we will meet under the Jamaica Pond Boathouse Bandstand.
