Lassiez les bon temps rouler with this Louisiana musical gumbo of songs about gators, skeeters, crawfish and possums. With songs like “Today is Monday in Louisiana,” “How to Dress a Po’ Boy,” and “Give Me That Zydeco,” we’ll pass a good time with this boogie on the bayou for children.
Called the “Musical Ambassador to Children,” the “Bonnie Raitt of Children’s Music,” and the “Pied Piper of Louisiana Music Traditions,” Johnette Downing is internationally known for her Louisiana roots music performances and catchy original songs. With Cajun, Creole, blues, jazz, Caribbean and zydeco influences, this New Orleans native serves up a gumbo of toe-tapping, two-stepping tunes, stirred with a passion for sharing her rich culture with children, and offering plenty of opportunities to sing and dance along. The Louisiana Writer Award recipient, Johnette is the author of thirty books and twelve recordings, and has performed on five continents.
