Join Island Karaoke for an exciting night of live music, community spirit, and unforgettable performances as local singers compete for a chance to advance in the 2nd Annual Sing Nanaimo! Karaoke Competition.

This Facebook event is open to everyone, but contestants must register for an audition.
To compete, reserve an audition spot through one of the two official Eventbrite Audition Night registration pages:

Contestants only need to audition once.
Advance registration through Eventbrite is:
$25 per contestant
Or register at the door on audition night for:
$30 cash per contestant
Audition spots are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
After registering, contestants will receive instructions for submitting their audition song choice before audition night.

What Are The Judges Looking For?
Sing Nanaimo! is not about finding the "perfect" singer.
This competition celebrates authenticity, courage, self-expression, and genuine connection.
Of course, vocal ability earns points, but singers who bring their personality to the stage, have fun, and genuinely connect with the audience earn the most points.
Our judges are looking for performers who:
• Enjoy themselves on stage
• Express the emotion of the song
• Connect naturally with the audience
• Show confidence and authenticity
• Create a memorable experience
You do not need professional training.
You do not need years of experience.
You do not need to be the best singer in the room.
What matters most is being yourself.
Some of the most memorable performances come from singers who make people smile, laugh, sing along, and feel something.
Eligibility
Sing Nanaimo! is intended for amateur performers.
Professional touring musicians, paid professional singers, and individuals who earn income through professional music performance may be deemed ineligible at the discretion of the organizers.
Bring your friends, support local performers, and experience one of Nanaimo's most entertaining nights of the summer.
