Gustavo Dudamel and Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra have been inseparable for 25 years. The Venezuelan conductor boosted the growth of the national youth orchestra into a world-renowned orchestra and led the now mature musicians all the way to Carnegie Hall. The programme opens with contemporary works by two compatriots. With rhythms and harmonies that take unexpected 180-degree turns, Ricardo Lorenz illustrates the versatile Venezuelan natural landscape with Todo Terreno ("all terrains"). Gonzalo Grau takes a journey from west to east coast in the same landscape with Odisea, a Concerto for Venezuelan Cuatro and Orchestra, in which the four-string guitar safely crosses every multicultural crossroads. Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony is the final destination of Dudamel's inspiring trip.

Gustavo Dudamel et le Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra sont inséparables depuis 25 ans. Le chef d'orchestre vénézuélien a stimulé la croissance de l'orchestre national des jeunes pour en faire un orchestre de renommée mondiale et a conduit les musiciens, désormais adultes, jusqu'au Carnegie Hall. Le programme s'ouvre sur des œuvres contemporaines de deux compatriotes. Avec les rythmes et les harmonies prenant des virages inattendus à 180 degrés de Todo Terreno (« tout terrain »), Ricardo Lorenz illustre les multiples facettes du paysage naturel vénézuélien. Gonzalo Grau fait un voyage de la côte ouest à la côte est à travers des paysages similaires avec Odisea, un Concerto pour cuatro vénézuélien et orchestre, dans lequel la guitare à quatre cordes traverse en toute sécurité tous les carrefours multiculturels. La Quatrième Symphonie de Tchaïkovski est la destination finale du voyage inspirant de Dudamel.
