Celebrating Slavic Baking Tradition AND 250 Years of American Freedom 🇺🇸
Do you have a treasured family recipe passed down through generations? A kolachi, babka, kifli, medovik, or other Slavic favorite that deserves the spotlight? We invite you to be part of the Simply Slavic Baking Contest 2026!
Sponsored by Krakus Deli & Bakery, this beloved annual tradition celebrates the rich culinary heritage of Slavic cultures while showcasing the stories, recipes, and traditions that connect generations.
HOW IT WORKS
Participants will present a homemade Slavic baked good to be judged on:
👅 Taste (50%)
🏺 Authenticity (25%)
✨ Presentation (25%)
Winners will be announced on the day of the contest and recognized during the Simply Slavic Festival (June 26–28, 2026).
ENTRY DETAILS
• Open to non-professional bakers only
• $5 Entry Fee (FREE for participants under 18)
• Maximum of 10 contestants – first come, first served
• Entry deadline: June 7, 2026
Contestants must bring their baked goods to SMARTS at noon on the day of the event. Remaining baked goods will help support future Simply Slavic cultural programming and scholarships.
