In a culture that prefers not to talk about death, an end-of life doula can guide us through.
About this Event

Judith Sutphen and Ava Naylor of End of Life RI will speak about the various ways end-of-life doulas can work with individuals and families to cope emotionally and practically with the preparation, immediacy and aftermath of death.

Judith and Ava are end-of-life doulas, who are trained trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort. An end of life doula, or death doula, accompanies a person as they are preparing to die, through death itself and after death. A doula can advocate for and create a peaceful environment for the dying as well as facilitate and mediate any last wishes and cultural or spiritual rituals.
